About The Lufkin Juneteenth Association
The Lufkin Juneteenth Association was established to preserve and promote the historical significance of Juneteenth, the day the last enslaved African Americans in Texas were informed of their freedom on June 19, 1865. Rooted in a spirit of unity and cultural pride, we bring together people of all backgrounds Black, White, Hispanic, and Asian to celebrate freedom, family, and community.
Our mission is to educate, commemorate, and connect through events that honor our shared history and empower future generations.
